The day I met James Arthur Ray is forever etched upon my brain.  The ugly words he hurled at me ::: still haunt me to this day.  The nearly instantaneous NEED I felt to ::: RUN ::: (I'm disabled and couldn't move fast or far without my walker) ::: CRY ::: (my self worth eroded to a tiny nub) ::: DIE ::: (had my husband not been with me ... I'd have surely tried) to hurl myself from the highest portion of the parking structure.

The stunning revelation ::: my husband and I had both wanted to take part ::: but we hadn't the cash ::: but for the grace of God ::: we might have been there ::: and died?  Too many people injured ::: too many people died.  James Arthur Ray did nothing ::: lied ::: ran ::: took millions from JRI and lawyered up.

For two years ::: the world, his fans, victims and family ::: have waited.
For two years ::: the world, his fans, victims and family ::: have watched.
For two years ::: the world, his fans, victims and family ::: have listened.
For two years ::: not a word of sorrow, not a single tear, no apology, no remorse.



For two years ::: excuses, lies, half truths and insults ::: heaped upon the victims (both living and dead) all to save James Arthur Ray's reputation.


The floodgates opened during James Arthur Ray's Presentencing Hearing.
Tears when friends spoke of their love and adoration.
Tears when his contemporaries spoke of James Arthur Ray's inherent goodness.
Tears when John Ray spoke of the vastness of the love he has for his brother James.
Tears when his Mother lovingly spoke of the pureness and goodness of James Arthur Ray's soul.



He ::: James Arthur Ray ::: sat unmoved, silent, unable to face (COWARD) the victim's families as they spoke directly to him.  Shedding not a single tear, sigh, or ANY indication (other than red ears) he felt anything OTHER than extreme discomfort, at being forced to listen.

Tears when begging for forgiveness and probation. Ironically facing the victims family now, as he begged.  I watched with a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

When he was done begging, red faced, his face shimmering with tears ::: James Arthur Ray turned and walked back to his seat.  In that instant ::: there was a glimmer of something sickening in his eyes ::: a half smile smirk.  Emotions difficult for me ::: difficult for others ::: watching and commenting on twitter who saw the look ::: and were sickened by it as well.

So many questions ::: why did a crimson faced Darrow rule the way he did ::: copious disjointed explanations NOT withstanding?  How can a judge ::: however politely he worded it ::: lay part of the blame for their deaths ::: upon the victims?

Half Truths, Lies and Misdirection

My husband is always talking about the best places to start a corporation.  One of his favorite places is Las Vegas.  With that in mind, I decided to visit Nevada's Secretary of State website and run a quick and simple corporation search.  The results are interesting.  It would appear that James Arthur Ray, family and friends, have been very busy the past couple of years.

If I had the time and energy, there are other sites I could run searches on ::: but at this point in my life I've neither the time or inclination to do so.

Please bear in mind the searches I ran were all done on government sites which allow people to get information on corporations free of charge.  Anyone with the time and engery to look can find this info. 

Of the corporations I found linked to James Arthur Ray, only two are currently active. Interestingly James Ray International was incorporated in both California and Nevada ::: both registrations are active, current and up to date.

Can you trust anything James Arthur Ray says?

Over the years I've learned NOT to trust Mr Ray's statements. A lot of the things he states as fact, are pretty easy to check up on. As he's currently fighting so hard to get probation time, I thought I'd run a quick background check on some of his more recent statements.

James Arthur Ray has stated he has no company and that his corporation is no longer active. I ran a corporation search on the California Secretary of State's website, which still lists James Ray International as an active California Corporation. Additionally his corporate website has been redesigned with new graphics, a video showing him being touted by Oprah (I wonder if Oprah knows he's using her image and videos to sell himself online), and is offering James Arthur Ray products for sale.

So, either James Arthur Ray simply forgot to shut down his corporation and business website ::: or he's lying and still intends to continue on with business as usual.

Mr Ray says his home has been repossessed. This statement is simply not true. While the foreclosure process may have been started, a bank short sale has been approved, and is currently pending. Unlike in a foreclosure, the bank does not own the property in a short sale. So once again, it would appear Mr Ray has exagerated ::: ahem ::: lied.

PRESENTENCING MEMORANDUM


Mr. Ray is a 54 year-old man with no prior criminal history, including arrests or convictions, a demonstrated record of good character and community service, and who has been convicted of unintentional, non-violent crimes for which he, like many others touched by the tragedy, feels devastation and extreme sorrow. He is not and has never been violent, and he poses no risk to society. To the contrary, he is an integral part of a loving family and a relied-upon care give to his ailing parents: Joyce Ray, who has metastasized thyroid cancer, and his father, Gordon Ray, who suffers from dementia. The state’s attempt to minimize Mr. Ray’s good character by depicting him as wealthy is mistaken. Mr. Ray is unable to pay his bills, and his house has been foreclosed on. He now lives with his parents, and if this Court grants probation, would continue to reside with and care for them.

In his legal pleadings Mr Ray keeps professing what a good upstanding person he is and has been. While some could argue I'm being nit picky, I don't believe the average person would ever accrue the amount of debt (both business and personal) that Mr Ray has over the years. I also don't believe the average person would sit back and do absolutely NOTHING while people were dying less than 10 feet away. If that isn't violent behavior ::: I don't know what is.

Are James Arthur Ray's actions indicative of an inherently dishonest person? In my book, yeah ::: but then I'm an old fuddy duddy with very definite ideas about what does and does not constitute honest upstanding behavior. I don't believe taking people's money and using it to finance your legal fees is honest or right ::: nor should it be legal. But then I'm funny that way.

We've all heard how much Mr Ray loves fast expensive cars. Which is all good when you're on a racing track or out in the middle of no where and you can open up ::: but speeding in a crowded city is a whole different animal. Which is why I posted his speeding ticket below, (he has more) to show how reckless the guy has been in his personal life. Driving over 65 on regular streets puts EVERYONE in danger.

Recently James Arthur Ray has started saying how sorry he is that people died "accidentally" (his word not mine) during the sweat lodge. If that were true he would have spent more time apologizing to the victims than scrambling to cover his sorry ass. The fact that while facing possible incarceration, he suddenly expresses remorse is so much BS.

When it comes down to it, despite all his protestations to the contrary, James Arthur Ray is a liar, a thief and a very dangerous man. He has a long history of skirting the law on issues both small and large. Just because you weren't caught until now, doesn't mean you're Lilly white and clean. Had no one died at Spiritual Warrior 2009, Mr Ray would have continued on as he had in the past. If he doesn't get jail time or legal restraints place upon his future activities ::: he'll just pick up where he left off.

James Arthur Ray's lawyers has stated Mr Ray has settled all his lawsuits. Below are listed ONLY the lawsuits from San Diego and Orange County, California. Information which may be obtained free of charge online. There are many more lawsuits which have been filed against Mr. Ray in various other states.

I welcome any and all comments. If you think I'm being unreasonable and/or too tough on Mr Ray, please feel free to respond below and tell me why. I'll be more than happy to post your side of things.

Lastly, my heart goes out to James Arthur Ray's Mom and Dad. I worked in the medical field for decades ::: as such I've been a caregiver for most of my adult life. Additionally I was a caregiver to both my parents, my husband's parents and various other family members.

Should anyone Care about James Arthur Ray's Needs?

Every time I think there's nothing James Arthur Ray could ever say or do to shock or dismay me any more than I've been shocked or dismayed ::: I get side swiped by something new.

Here's a man ::: who for years ::: has been spending every free minute ::: promoting himself, his seminars, his books, his World Wealth Society (I could go on and on and on ::: but you get the picture) on television, on the web, at seminars, on the radio ::: ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Suddenly he's broke, his home repossessed  (he has multiple homes ::: which one?) his life is in shambles, his Mom has cancer, his Dad dementia.  Suddenly this one man teacher of all things success is the only person able to care for his parents ::: and needs to be home to do just that.

I'm not sure why he's living at his parent's home, but I'll give odds the true reason has more to do with convenience (closer to his L.A. lawyers) than a sudden desire to be a loving care taker. 

I've been a caregiver to both my parents (six years), my uncle (two years), my husband's parents (six years) and my brother-in-law (cancer).  I didn't have time to go out to fancy dinners, eat yummy sushi (while taking pictures), drink special coffee (again while taking pictures) twitter morning noon and night, sell BS products online, and keeping up with all my facebook friends.

When you don't have money ::: taking care of cancer, hear disease and just about any other serious disease is a 24 hour a day job.  If you're broke, you sometimes go hungry so your parents can eat (4 days out of the month I did), you wear old clothing, you sleep when you can and struggle to get by.

I did CPR on my Uncle when his heart gave out.  Four years later I did CPR on my Dad the night his heart exploded.  For five years after Dad's death I cared for my Mom alone, eventually leaving my job to care for her.  I stayed up countless nights while my Mom went in and out of congestive heart failure.  When I fractured my leg I had no health insurance, and no way to get care.  I treated my leg with ace bandages and ice bags.

I did the Heimlich on my Father-in-law when an 800mg Motrin tab lodged in his windpipe.  Fed him around the clock when his intestines lost much of their ability to absorb food after open heart surgery. Cleansed him around the clock when he developed MRSA.  Spent the better part of five years fighting to keep him alive.  When my brother-in-law developed cancer, I helped care for him as well.  My husband and I held him in our arms as he took his last breath (six months after his father died).

Upon seeing me for the first time, fat, tired, worried about my father-in-law's health, semi bald and barely able to walk ::: James Arthur Ray told me I'd never be anything but a fat slob and a looser if I didn't sign up for his seminar.  Stupid, clueless and hurtful.  He surely doesn't sound much like a loving and nurturing caregiver to me.

Please forgive me ::: but I just don't buy it ::: not for a second.  While I'm sincerely sorry for his parent's current physical challenges ::: their illness doesn't take away the fact that James Arthur Ray's actions caused the deaths of three people ::: THAT WE KNOW OF.

Because of James Arthur Ray's actions: James Shore died and left a wife and children ::: I don't hear James Arthur Ray offering to pay for their education, housing or medical care.

Because of James Arthur Ray's actions: Liz Neuman died and left a loving family ::: a husband who still misses and needs his wife ::: children who weren't ready to loose their Mom.   Liz will never be able to see her grandchildren, and do a myriad of other things which fall under the heading of being a Mom.

Because of James Arthur Ray's actions: Kirby Brown died and left a loving family.  She will never watch her family grow, never have children of her own, never again hug her Mom, her Dad, her Sister or her Brother.

Because of James Arthur Ray's actions: Colleen Conaway is dead ::: the truth of what happened that day forever shrouded in mystery.

James Arthur Ray would have the world believe he is not a violent man.  Violence comes in many forms ::: not all of them blatant or in your face.  Some of the worst violence has been that which creeps in subtly under the guidance of a bully.

How many people have to die or be injured before James Arthur Ray is finally seen as a violent and dangerous man?  How much lower can this beast of a man go before hitting rock bottom?  Why should any of us care about him or his needs, when he so obviously doesn't give a God Damn about anyone else's needs but his own.

Will Truth Justice and the American Way Ever Touch James Arthur Ray

Over two years after three people died ::: James Arthur Ray's Pre sentencing hearing is finally upon us. The way this trial has bobbed and wobbled every which way ::: through half truths ::: outright lies ::: and shouts of abuse ::: I thought I'd take a moment to ramble on a bit about how I feel about JAR's trial, the constitution and what all of this means to me.

Everyone has their take on things, which is why communications between people are rarely simple.  In bad situations communication becomes outright contentious.
Some concepts are universal. 
  1. Abuse :: of ANY kind :: is a bad thing.
  2. Causing people (physical, emotional, sexual) harm :: is a bad thing.
  3. Standing by and doing nothing while people are suffering or dying :: is a bad thing.
  4. Stealing from others :: is a bad thing.
  5. Lying to others :: is a bad thing.
The American Founding Fathers felt strongly enough about the above mentioned beliefs to issue a Declaration of Independence from Brittan and draft the U.S. Constitution.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
IMHO James Arthur Ray would seem to believe he's a bit more equal than most (translation: he's special and has special needs).  Sadly he also appears comfortable pursuing "Life, Liberty and Happiness" any way he can, regardless how many people he takes down in the process.  I can't help wondering what the Founding Fathers would think of Modern America ::: more specifically ::: James Arthur Ray and his blatant abuse of the American judicial system.

James Arthur Ray has lied to, and stolen from, countless people.  He has bankrupted a number of businesses and ruined the good names of various people and organizations.  His actions have physically maimed dozens and contributed to the deaths of at least 4 people ::: that we know of.

James Arthur Ray sat back and allowed his defense team to abuse, malign and verbally attack victims and witnesses alike ::: all in the name of protecting his name ::: his honor and his special needs.  Playing full on ::: with such a selfish and ugly winner-takes-all mentality ::: that at times it made me feel physically ill while listening to the trial.

To say James Arthur Ray is bad person would be a gross understatement.  But then what do I know, I'm just a fat ugly slob ::: a nobody in James Arthur Ray's world.  James Arthur Ray told me I'd never be anything but a fat slob and a looser if I didn't put myself in debt to attend his seminars. 

Now supposedly bankrupt, his professional reputation in tatters ::: James Arthur Ray stands convicted of negligent homicide X 3.  He and his lawyers have been doing everything in their power to stall any sort of justice for the dead.  Just how much jail time (if any) he eventually receives is ultimately up to the judge.

If you listen to the talking heads ::: James Ray is a kind hearted caring soul who should get probation. 

If you listen to the media ::: no one really knows what happened except the dead. 

Certain harsh voices (you know who they are) lawyers who will remain nameless for this post, and delusional JAR fans ::: all of whom are a little too quick to happily blame anyone and everyone ::: BUT ::: James Arthur Ray for the events at Spiritual Warrior 2009.  To hear them talk ::: the dead died because of their own stupidity.

FYI ::: the dead died because of James Arthur Ray's actions (or rather lack thereof) ::: a byproduct of his unbridled greed, arrogance and avarice.  They died because they trusted in a man who could not be trusted ::: and NEVER SHOULD BE TRUSTED AGAIN.

In the end ::: Jail time ::: or NO Jail time ::: the fruits of James Arthur Ray's actions will follow him until his dying day.  No amount of fame, wealth or adoration can remove the stain James Arthur Ray's actions have etched upon his soul.

I'm talking about an indefinable something which exists in the honorable among us.  Something once lost ::: which is nearly impossible to replace.  The thing which grants us peace, spiritual grounding, and the ability to navigate the world secure in the knowledge of right and wrong.

In case you're reading this James ::: I've long forgiven you for any of the ugly words you hurled at me so many years ago.  Forgiveness being a gift I've granted myself.  I'm letting you go, secure in the knowledge that the universe takes care of us all.

13-1102.  Negligent homicide; classification

A. A person commits negligent homicide if with criminal negligence the person causes the death of another person, including an unborn child.
  
B. An offense under this section applies to an unborn child in the womb at any stage of its development. A person may not be prosecuted under this section if any of the following applies:
  1. The person was performing an abortion for which the consent of the pregnant woman, or a person authorized by law to act on the pregnant woman's behalf, has been obtained or for which the consent was implied or authorized by law.
  2. The person was performing medical treatment on the pregnant woman or the pregnant woman's unborn child. 
  3. The person was the unborn child's mother.
C. Negligent homicide is a class 4 felony.

A. Under circumstances likely to produce death or serious physical injury, any person who causes a child or vulnerable adult to suffer physical injury or, having the care or custody of a child or vulnerable adult, who causes or permits the person or health of the child or vulnerable adult to be injured or who causes or permits a child or vulnerable adult to be placed in a situation where the person or health of the child or vulnerable adult is endangered is guilty of an offense as follows:
  1. If done intentionally or knowingly, the offense is a class 2 felony and if the victim is under fifteen years of age it is punishable pursuant to section 13-705.
  2. If done recklessly, the offense is a class 3 felony.
  3. If done with criminal negligence, the offense is a class 4 felony.

13-203. Causal relationship between conduct and result; relationship to mental culpability

A. Conduct is the cause of a result when both of the following exist:
  1. But for the conduct the result in question would not have occurred.
  2. The relationship between the conduct and result satisfies any additional causal requirements imposed by the statute defining the offense.
 B. If intentionally causing a particular result is an element of an offense, and the actual result is not within the intention or contemplation of the person, that element is established if:
  1. The actual result differs from that intended or contemplated only in the respect that a different person or different property is injured or affected or that the injury or harm intended or contemplated would have been more serious or extensive than that caused; or
      
  2. The actual result involves similar injury or harm as that intended or contemplated and occurs in a manner which the person knows or should know is rendered substantially more probable by such person's conduct.
C. If recklessly or negligently causing a particular result is an element of an offense, and the actual result is not within the risk of which the person is aware or in the case of criminal negligence, of which the person should be aware, that element is established if:
  1. The actual result differs from the probable result only in the respect that a different person or different property is injured or affected or that the injury or harm intended or contemplated would have been more serious or extensive than that caused; or
      
  2. The actual result involves similar injury or harm as the probable result and occurs in a manner which the person knows or should know is rendered substantially more probable by such person's conduct.

Under circumstances other than those likely to produce death or serious physical injury to a child or vulnerable adult, any person who causes a child or vulnerable adult to suffer physical injury or abuse or, having the care or custody of a child or vulnerable adult, who causes or permits the person or health of the child or vulnerable adult to be injured or who causes or permits a child or vulnerable adult to be placed in a situation where the person or health of the child or vulnerable adult is endangered is guilty of an offense as follows:
  1. If done intentionally or knowingly, the offense is a class 4 felony.
  2. If done recklessly, the offense is a class 5 felony.
  3. If done with criminal negligence, the offense is a class 6 felony.
C. For the purposes of subsections A and B of this section, the terms endangered and abuse include but are not limited to circumstances in which a child or vulnerable adult is permitted to enter or remain in any structure or vehicle in which volatile, toxic or flammable chemicals are found or equipment is possessed by any person for the purpose of manufacturing a dangerous drug in violation of section 13-3407, subsection A, paragraph 3 or 4. Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, a violation committed under the circumstances described in this subsection does not require that a person have care or custody of the child or vulnerable adult.

D. A person who intentionally or knowingly engages in emotional abuse of a vulnerable adult who is a patient or resident in any setting in which health care, health-related services or assistance with one or more of the activities of daily living is provided or, having the care or custody of a vulnerable adult, who intentionally or knowingly subjects or permits the vulnerable adult to be subjected to emotional abuse is guilty of a class 6 felony.

E. This section does not apply to:
  1. A health care provider as defined in section 36-3201 who permits a patient to die or the patient's condition to deteriorate by not providing health care if that patient refuses that care directly or indirectly through a health care directive as defined in section 36-3201, through a surrogate pursuant to section 36-3231 or through a court appointed guardian as provided for in title 14, chapter 5, article 3.
  2. A vulnerable adult who is being furnished spiritual treatment through prayer alone and who would not otherwise be considered to be abused, neglected or endangered if medical treatment were being furnished.
F. For the purposes of this section:
  1. "Abuse", when used in reference to a child, means abuse as defined in section 8-201, except for those acts in the definition that are declared unlawful by another statute of this title and, when used in reference to a vulnerable adult, means:
    (a) Intentional infliction of physical harm.
    (b) Injury caused by criminally negligent acts or omissions.
    (c) Unlawful imprisonment, as described in section 13-1303.
    (d) Sexual abuse or sexual assault.
      
  2. "Child" means an individual who is under eighteen years of age.
      
  3. "Emotional abuse" means a pattern of ridiculing or demeaning a vulnerable adult, making derogatory remarks to a vulnerable adult, verbally harassing a vulnerable adult or threatening to inflict physical or emotional harm on a vulnerable adult.
      
  4. "Physical injury" means the impairment of physical condition and includes any skin bruising, pressure sores, bleeding, failure to thrive, malnutrition, dehydration, burns, fracture of any bone, subdural hematoma, soft tissue swelling, injury to any internal organ or any physical condition that imperils health or welfare.
  5. "Serious physical injury" means physical injury that creates a reasonable risk of death or that causes serious or permanent disfigurement, serious impairment of health or loss or protracted impairment of the function of any bodily organ or limb.
  6. "Vulnerable adult" means an individual who is eighteen years of age or older and who is unable to protect himself from abuse, neglect or exploitation by others because of a mental or physical impairment.

Actions Speak Louder than Words

I remember thinking how thoughtless (not to mention stupid) it was for James Arthur Ray's Dream Defense Team to post all his letters to the court with personal information attached.  I mean it's one thing to send your support ::: it's altogether an other to have your private personal information plastered on the world wide web for everyone to download and see.

Fast forward almost a week ::: and MANY complaints later ::: James Arthur Ray's Dream Defense Team was forced to file an emergency motion to seal these letters.  Too little too late ::: the letters have been read and the damage done.  The worst part ::: for James Arthur Ray anyway ::: is just how stupid and LAZY they make him look.

Almost 200 pages of old thank you emails and letters ::: many written well before the trial began ::: intermingled with a few bizarre (as in psycho scary) letters of support and proof of donations (some many years old), which have little or nothing to do with James Arthur Ray's character.

Let's not forget Bob Proctor's idiot bombshell of a letter blaming the victims for dying (shame on them for not leaving ::: after JAR told them to stay ::: and then succumbing to heat stroke) ::: while proclaiming NOTHING was James Arthur Ray's fault.

Unfortunately, once something gets published on the web (and been downloaded) there's no real way to make it go away.  So these letters are bound to continue causing problems and more complaints.  I can't help wondering if Bob Proctor still feels the way he said he did about his buddy James?  I also can't help wondering if what he wrote is going to come back and bite him in the you-know-what?

James Arthur Ray's Instantaneous Remorse ::: can it be trusted?

For almost two years James Arthur Ray has been telling everyone within earshot that he didn't do anything wrong ::: he's pure as the driven snow ::: and doesn't know why anyone died.  Fast forward one nasty court case and three counts of you're guilty James ::: and suddenly he develops a conscience. 

So now, just before sentencing ::: James suddenly does a 180 and tells a parole officer "he was responsible for the sweat lodge but that he is not a threat to society".  And because he spoke, the world is supposed to believe James is a changed man.

Friend James also told the PO "that he won't hold another sweat lodge ceremony or any other potentially dangerous activity, but he should be held responsible for his actions".  Since friend James has been doing everything in his power to avoid any and ALL responsibility for ANYTHING ::: I can't help wondering what "HE" feels would be a proper punishment?

Personally I don't see any change.  It will take a whole lot more than words for me to believe James Arthur Ray has taken responsibility for his actions.  Expressing remorse to a parole officer was cheap and way too easy.  Actually saying the words "I'm sorry" to his victims would have been a good first step.  Saying so NOW, simply to stay out of jail, is meaningless.

In July of this year, I sent a letter to Ms Polk for the pre sentence hearing.  In it I outlined how badly James Arthur Ray treated me at one of his free 2007 events.  I wrote it in the hopes James Arthur Ray would get jail time and never again have the power to hurt anyone in the future.

I don't think James Arthur Ray gives a damn what I think, feel or believe.  That said if he actually took the time to refund people their money, write real letters of apology to everyone he's harmed, and acknowledge responsibility for his actions ::: I'd be much more inclined to believe he's trying to change.

I don't think I'll be getting a letter of apology anytime soon.

Why did Tom Kelly's heart problem stop the show?

God I'm confused ::: then again I'm sort'a kind'a old and recovering from a stroke. That said ::: stopping James Arthur Ray's mitigation hearing doesn't make sense to me.  I'm probably just stupid.

According the rules of the Arizona Supreme Court ::: nonresident attorneys who want to to appear as counsel (pro hac vice) simply need to comply with Rule 38(a).

This basically means any out of state lawyer with the proper credentials and fees (Translation: ALL of James Arthur Ray's MTO folks) simply completes a pro hac vice form and sends it ::: along with the fees ::: to the State Bar of Arizona.  They don't need an Arizona Lawyer on their team ::: don't need nada beyond a client that is ::: all they need to do is show up for trial.

For the record, I'm sorry Mr Kelly took ill.  I've been in and out of the hospital a LOT over the years and know how scary it can be.  My heart goes out to Kelly and his entire family.  I hope he's feeling better soon.

BUT (there's always one of those isn't there?) it doesn't make ANY sense to me why Kelly ::: who's not even the lead lawyer on James Arthur Ray ::: would be so vital as to necessitate Darrow shutting the entire case down ::: to be rescheduled at a later date (yet again)?  I mean most NORMAL folk manage to survive the judicial system with one lawyer ::: friend James has 8.

Accidents and illness happens all the time ::: and life continues on.  One would think with six California lawyers and two Arizona Lawyers representing James Arthur Ray they could have managed to carry on without Kelly.  But then what do I know?

This entire thing has left me with a bad taste in my mouth.  Sure would be interesting to see how many airline tickets and hotel reservations James Arthur Ray's dream team actually made paid for???  Guess I'm suspicious because friend Ray's people were trying so hard to delay the process from get go.  I'm also curious as to how much lead time these good people gave the state ::: and how much money the state and their witnesses are now out of ::: for plane fair, lodging, missing work, etc. 

Question of the day?  When the state was informed of Kelly's illness?  Who pays the state's costs to schedule and reschedule things?  Who pays for the loss in work, etc. suffered by all the state's witnesses?


It's coming up on the two year anniversary of Spiritual Warrior 2009.  God willing this mess will have been resolved before that date.

JAR states he's quoting Dion Fortune ::: AKA Violet Mary Firth Evans ::: a 20th Century British Occultist and prolific author.  Not that it really matters, he should have attributed this quote to Jane Gifford an other Brit.

What's so phenomenally stunning about this particular quote is the fact it's describing the process of dying ::: while this discussion eventually goes on to speak about rebirth of spirit ::: the fact remains the body is dead.

James ::: 3 people are dead due to your actions ::: 4 if you count Colleen Conaway ::: and you tweet about death?  Have you no sensitivity or feeling?  Excuse my rhetorical question James ::: I guess already know the answer.  Your words and actions speak volumes.

Tweets from an Evil and Blind James Arthur Ray

It seems like every time James Arthur Ray tries sounding profound ::: he ends up sounding profoundly stupid.  But then that's just my take ::: and I'm a nit picky opinionated bitch.  (Smile when you read that damn it!)

I read today's James Arthur Ray post and groaned.  Sounds cute, and would look great in a greeting card ::: but it's just more of JAR's same-old same-old ::: meaningless don't mean shit ::: Twitter Peeps.

Yeah ::: technically the word "sight" can be used to define the process of seeing via one's eyes (assuming they both work) ::: BUT ::: and it's a big BUTT (pun intended) vision is not the process of seeing through the eyes.

I think what friend James meant to say was "vision is the process of seeing through our mind's eye" ::: or some such huggy cutesy feel good sounding drivel.

When the average ::: educated ::: person on the street thinks of the word "Vision", he/she immediately thinks imagination (hint: envision) NOT 20-20 vision.  Friend James must have had a brain fart and accidentally substituted the wrong word.  Then again ::: perhaps not :::

The Dark Side of James Arthur Ray's Twitter Posts

James enjoys substituting words A LOT ::: and not because he's stupid.  Perhaps there's a more sinister reasoning behind all of James Arthur Ray's strange, bizarre and disjointed Tweet Posts.  I believe these posts are part and parcel of James Arthur Ray's INTENTIONAL and ongoing efforts to manipulate (translation: brainwash) his followers.

James Arthur Ray has shown himself a master of redirection and manipulation.  He lies, steals, bullies, misdirects, abuses, kills ::: and yet NOTHING he does is ever his fault.  It's almost as if his very soul were made of Teflon.

James Arthur Ray would have the world believe that everything he says is the truth.  He has consistently promised his followers, the universe on a platter ::: IF ::: they trust whatever he says (without question) ::: do whatever he says (without question) ::: and give him LOTS of money (without question).

Love Bombing: is the deliberate show of affection or friendship by an individual or a group of people toward another individual. Critics have asserted that this action may be motivated in part by the desire to recruit, convert or otherwise influence.

Critics of cults often cite love bombing as one of the features that may identify an organization as a cult. When used by critics, the phrase is defined to mean affection that is feigned or with an ulterior motive and that is used to reduce the subject's resistance to recruitment.[5]

The term was popularized by psychology professor Margaret Singer, who has become closely identified with the love-bombing-as-brainwashing point of view.[6] In her 1996 book, Cults in Our Midst, she described the technique:
As soon as any interest is shown by the recruits, they may be love bombed by the recruiter or other cult members. This process of feigning friendship and interest in the recruit was originally associated with one of the early youth cults, but soon it was taken up by a number of groups as part of their program for luring people in. Love bombing is a coordinated effort, usually under the direction of leadership, that involves long-term members' flooding recruits and newer members with flattery, verbal seduction, affectionate but usually nonsexual touching, and lots of attention to their every remark. Love bombing - or the offer of instant companionship - is a deceptive ploy accounting for many successful recruitment drives.[7]
The Unification Church rejects this view of its practice. Church leader Damian Anderson has written:
One man's love-bombing is another man's being showered with attention. Everyone likes such care and attention, so it is unfortunate that when we love as Jesus taught us to love, that we are then accused of having ulterior motives.[8]
Steven Hassan and Keith Henson are among the other cult critics to write about love bombing, postulating that it is similar, in terms of effects on neutrotransmitters within the brain, emotional state, and conduct, to the administration of drugs of abuse, temporarily producing intense euphoria when under its influence, and encouraging the actions from which the stimulus was derived. Pursuit of the stimulus often becomes an obsessive focus that is detrimental to financial status and human relationships.[9]

Dr. Geri-Ann Galanti (in a sympathetic article) writes: "A basic human need is for self-esteem.... Basically [love bombing] consists of giving someone a lot of positive attention."[10]

Gaslighting: is a form of psychological abuse in which false information is presented to the victim with the intent of making them doubt their own memory and perception. It may simply be the denial by an abuser that previous abusive incidents ever occurred, or it could be the staging of bizarre events by the abuser with the intention of disorienting the victim. Gaslighting had a colloquial origin explained below, but the term has also been used in clinical and research literature.[1][2]

The term derives from the 1938 stage play Gas Light (originally known as Angel Street in the United States), and the 1940 and 1944 film adaptations. The plot concerns a husband who attempts to drive his wife to insanity by manipulating small elements of their environment, and insisting that she is mistaken or misremembering when she points out these changes. The title stems from the husband's subtle dimming of the house's gas lights, which she accurately notices and which the husband insists she's imagining.

Gaslighting has been used colloquially since at least the late 1970s to describe efforts to manipulate someone's sense of reality. In a 1980 book on child sex abuse, Florence Rush summarized George Cukor's 1944 film version of Gas Light, and writes, "even today the word [gaslight] is used to describe an attempt to destroy an other's perception of reality." [3]

Crowd manipulation: is the intentional use of techniques based on the principles of crowd psychology to engage, control, or influence the desires of a crowd in order to direct its behavior toward a specific action.[1] This practice is common to politics and business and can facilitate the approval or disapproval or indifference to a person, policy, or product. The ethical use of crowd manipulation is debatable and depends on such factors as the intention of and the means used by the manipulator, as well as the ends achieved.

Destabilisation, bullying, and other power tactics.  The word destabilisation can be applied to a wide variety of contexts such as attempts to undermine political, military or economic power. In a psychological context it is used as a technique in brain washing and abuse to disorientate and disarm the victim. For example, in the context of workplace bullying, destabilisation applied to the victim may involve:[1] [2]
  • failure to acknowledge good work and value the victim's efforts
  • allocation of meaningless tasks
  • removal of areas of responsibility without consultation
  • repeated reminders of blunders
  • setting up to fail
  • shifting of goal posts without telling the victim
  • persistent attempts to demoralise the victim.
Cognitive Distortions: Are also logical fallacies; related links are suggested in parentheses.
  1. All-or-nothing thinking (splitting) – Thinking of things in absolute terms, like "always", "every", "never", and "there is no alternative". Few aspects of human behavior are so absolute. (See false dilemma.) All-or-nothing-thinking can contribute to depression. (See depression). Also called dichotomous thinking.
  2. Overgeneralization – Taking isolated cases and using them to make wide generalizations. (See hasty generalization.)

Should statements – Patterns of thought which imply the way things "should" or "ought" to be rather than the actual situation the patient is faced with, or having rigid rules which the patient believes will "always apply" no matter what the circumstances are. Albert Ellis termed this "Musturbation". (See wishful thinking.)
  9. Labeling and mislabeling – Explaining behaviors or events, merely by naming them; related to overgeneralization. Rather than describing the specific behavior, a patient assigns a label to someone or himself that implies absolute and unalterable terms. Mislabeling involves describing an event with language that is highly colored and emotionally loaded.
  10. Personalization – Attribution of personal responsibility (or causal role) for events over which the patient has no control. This pattern is also applied to others in the attribution of blame.
